The Kiky hours in their current form will be removed from the state special education institutions’ teaching staff from 1 August onwards. For other employees covered by the Collective Agreement for State Civil Servants and Employees Under Contract, the hours will be removed from 1 October onwards. The Kiky negotiation result concerning the state special education institutions’ teaching staff was reached last week in negotiations with the Office for the Government as Employer.

OAJ reached the negotiation result during the negotiations with the Office for the Government as Employer, which concerned the removal of the Kiky hours of the state special education institutions’ teaching staff. For others, the solution was reached already during the collective agreement negotiations for state civil servants and employees under contract at the end of March.

The Kiky hours in their current form will be removed from state special education institutions’ teaching staff from 1 August onwards. To compensate for the removal of Kiky hours, the employer can assign a total of 12 hours of working time in a year, consisting of six hours of co-planning working time and six hours of study and planning work. The hours will be used for study and planning work in reform schools and for the maintenance of working ability in other institutions.

State special education institutions include state reform schools, language schools and the Valteri school. In other state institutions, Sámi Education Institute, the Meriturva Maritime Safety Training Centre and the Training Institute for Prison and Probation Service the general collective agreement for state civil servants (in Finnish) is applied regarding the Kiky hours.
