A new ban on overtime and shift change

OAJ is starting a ban on overtime and shift change in the private social services sector on Wednesday May 17 2023 at 00:01 am. The ban on overtime and shift change applies to all work duties within the private social services sector’s collective agreement, and to requirements of additional work. The ban on overtime and shift change will end on Tuesday May 30 at 1 pm.

The collective agreement covers about 800 OAJ members. The agreement applies to private early childhood education centres.

OAJ is involved in the contract through an accession protocol.

Strikes are aimed at speeding up the negotiations, where no solution was reached by the end of the contract period April 30, 2023.
