Negotiation result achieved for universities and training schools as well

Another significant result was achieved in the Finnish Education Employers’ negotiations. The result concerns the general collective agreement for universities and the collective agreement for the universities’ training schools. The solution achieved applies to more than 2,000 members of the OAJ.

There is now a solution for all agreements within the scope of the Finnish Education Employers. Negotiation solutions in the field of education and research were achieved before the solutions in the public sector for the first time in history. The representatives of the Finnish Education Employers expressed demands for speeding up the negotiations due to the coronavirus epidemic and, therefore, results were reached well before the end of the current agreement period on 31 March.

The university agreement is JUKO’s agreement; however, one of the main negotiators of the agreement is from OAJ. OAJ has negotiated the employment conditions for training school teaching staff directly with FEE.

The content of the solution will be published only after the agreement parties’ administrations have assessed it. The OAJ Executive Board will go over the negotiation result for universities, after which the JUKO decision-making bodies will address it.

The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL and the Federation of Public and Private Sector Employees Jyty are also parties to the university sector’s agreement. All parties must accept the proposed negotiation result.
